May’s Municipal Money Matters focuses on the recent effort by City Controller Christy Brady, Commissioners Omar Sabir, Lisa Deeley, Seth Bluestein and their staff to modernize a process to pay 7,700 poll workers a total of $1.8 million in just two weeks following the primary election.

Utilizing the new technology of the electronic poll books and streamlining the accounting and approval process through the Controller, Treasurer, OIT, and Finance offices, these crucial workers saw improvements in receiving payment from the typical eight-week process, to just two.
